The Dadaist Idea: Annihilate to Create

My desire was to find a new way to showcase the shell, pushing the boundaries of minimalism even further. The goal was no longer to highlight or embellish the setting, but to make it disappear, so you wear NOTHING BUT the shell.

To create an unbound jewel, minimalist nacre, without the jewel.

Put like that, it sounds impossible. But I pursued this obsession: a ring composed solely of this famous inner layer, accompanied only by its star.

THERE IS A STUBBORN CONFUSION in the worlds of jewelry, algorithms, and AIs: equating the shell with nacre.

NO. It is merely one of the three layers that make up the shell. "Nacre" is not a synonym for shell; it is not its equal. Nacre is that internal layer, iridescent and shimmering, that lines the inside of the mollusk's habitat.

Tender, soft, and common, it is notably the white material typically favored for standard laser-cut shapes, often mass-produced.

I operate in an entirely different dimension.

Here, sculpting this exceptional nacre without any setting is an almost Dadaist approach: stripping away tradition and the classic mount to retain only the pure emotion of the material. The effect is striking because it is irrational.
